House Washing

Soft Wash House Cleaning Grand Rapids MI

An often overlooked task of home ownership is the care and upkeep of the exterior siding. Maintaining a clean exterior of your home goes a long way in not only increasing the curb appeal, but increasing the life of the siding.

We use our low-pressure, soft wash system to clean siding. As with roof cleaning, it is safer to use a soft wash system instead of a power washer to wash houses. In the Grand Rapids area, we have seen vinyl and aluminum siding that has been damaged by the use of a power washer. Soft washing will not damage siding, or force water around windows or under the siding, which could lead to the growth of mold inside your walls. Our soft wash system, along with specialty cleaning solutions, provides a superior clean to having your siding pressure washed. Our solutions are allowed to dwell on the surface for a certain period of time, breaking the bond that the dirt and other contaminants have with the siding; it also kills all the mold, mildew and algae that may be present as well. Our process ends with a soft wash rinse to wash it all away.

You can rest easy knowing that our soft wash methods are the safest and most effective ways for removing the ugly mold, mildew, algae and dirt from your home’s exterior.

Great experience! We asked for our soffits to be cleaned and some 2nd story windows that we are unable to reach. They did the job well, no questions asked and did not try to push any other services on us. Would highly recommend and will call again!

Exterior Soft Washing

Soft washing is a safer alternative to Pressure washing when it is used to wash exterior siding on homes.  Soft washing is a safe and effective cleaning technique that utilizes a low pressure delivery and rinse system.

How it works.

The cleaning solution has algaecides which will eliminate algae and mold growth and soaps that will attack other types of surface dirt. After the cleaning solution is applied and allowed to site on the surface for a short period of time, the entire surface is rinsed with a high volume, low pressure rinsing. After the contaminants are rinsed away, you are left with a clean and sanitized surface.

Why Soft Wash

When a pressure washer is used to clean the exterior siding on a home there is a real possibility of damage being done.  The high pressure can force water under the siding, which may lead to mold growing in between the walls. It also can ruin the seals around windows.  Power washing can also leave marks on the siding, little gouges in the siding from where the wand was held to close. This can happen in a split second and there is no fixing it.  Soft washing eliminates all these problems by using pressures around 40 psi to apply the cleaning solution and 60-80 psi to rinse the home.  This low pressure will not gouge the siding, or force water in around windows or under the siding.

How often should a house be washed

We have found that homes in our area should be washed every 2-3 years to keep them looking good. There are situations that may require a cleaning each year, such as living near farm fields or in areas with a lot of spiders which build webs on the house and collect dirt from the air.
